We invite you to participate in the 6th annual River City Bridge Run, as it continues to be one of the most unique and challenging 5K’s on the Gulf Coast!
The original race course has expanded to now include other optional race events that take advantage of the natural beauty and resources in downtown Moss Point.
Every participant will run/walk together over the Escatawapa River Bridge, before those competing in the Singing River Triathlon begin a 2 mile paddle, followed by an 8 mile bike.
The transitions between all events take place at the waterfront in downtown Moss Point, making the River City Bridge Run and the Singing River Triathlon exciting for both participants and spectators alike!
This year we have partnered with Heritage Trails Partnership of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. This organization is committed to improving the quality of life of Mississippi Gulf Coast communities by promoting healthy physical outdoor activities. We hope you and your family will join us as we continue to ensure a brighter, healthier future for all our communities along the Gulf Coast.

Glad you are having in 2012!! I will be there this year!!!
Great! Looking forward to seeing you there!
When will the online forms for the 2012 race be available?
They will be ready this week. Thanks!
Online registration is ready to go! Hope to see you there!
This event sounds like it’s lot of fun but I have a few question. What will I need to bring if I want to do the whole event? The paddling part is what I’m confused about do I bring my own boat, kayak?
I know I’ll need a bike, road or mountain?
Running road or trails?
Sorry about the questions but I would like to bring everything needed.
Hey Mike, Thanks for the questions.
We only run and bike on paved roads, so you will need regular running shoes and a road bike for the 5K.
You will need a kayak for the paddling. We do have a very limited number we can loan out, so let us know if you need one.
Sorry for the delayed response. Your comment got lost amongst the many spam comments we get on the site.
Feel free to call or email us directly with any more questions
I’m looking forward to the triathalon. I love that it is kayaking and not swimming. I have one question. Are you required to wear a life vest while kayaking?
Hey Melissa,
We’re glad your looking forward to the triathlon!
Yes, you are required to wear a life jacket for the kayak portion of the race.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
I’m curious about the bike course. I’d like to know what to expect, so is it possible to post a course map?
Great question!
We just posted an updated race map in the FAQ’s section of the website. You can click on the map for a larger view if you have trouble seeing it.
Hope this clears things up, and hope to see you there!
I assume you’ve arranged for the bike course to be closed to traffic and that you’ll spot course watchers to prevent vehicles from blundering onto the circuit? I’ve raced on city circuit courses and criteriums where this has been under planned thus creating a potentially hazardous situation. Thanks in advance… looking forward to the event!
Good question James.
Some of the bike portion is NOT closed to traffic, but it is on a lightly traveled road(s), and their will be spotters and warning signs at all major intersections.
We hope you are comfortable with this, as it was not possible to shut down the all the roads.
Look forward to seeing you out there.
Racing Saturday, but off tomorrow. Send me a message if any help is needed with prep tomorrow, will be glad to lend a hand.
Thanks for the offer Craig!
I think we’ve got it under control at this point though. Just come on out Saturday. Look forward to seeing you then!
I have borrowed a couple kayaks. Will there be any help in getting them to and from the water during the race? They are a little heavy and long making them awkward to handle alone and I don’t want to drag or damage them. If there is no help, how far do we have to transport them from staging area to water?
Thanks,
Brian
Hey Brian,
There will be help with the Kayak’s tomorrow. So, you don’t worry about damaging them. It’s a short distance from their staging area to the boat ramp. See you then!
Just wondering if yall plan on posting the results anywhere? Thx for the great race!
They’ll be posted to our FaceBook page shortly.
Thanks for coming out. Hope to see you next year!
Great race. Thanks to the hard work of Jimmy and the volunteers, it was a very good event. Thanks again. Will plan to come back next year.
Great! See you then!
Are you going to have a 2013 triathlon?
thanks
Yes we are!! The website has been updated and registration is now open.
